Records only, not medical advice. This diary helps you keep notes for your child’s team. It can’t tell you what a seizure means or what to do. Always follow your child’s own care plan.
When to call 999
The NHS says call 999 and ask for an ambulance if: it’s the first time someone has had a seizure; the seizure lasts longer than is usual for them; it lasts more than 5 minutes if you don’t know how long their seizures usually last; they don’t fully come round, or have several seizures without coming round in between; they’re seriously injured; or they have difficulty breathing afterwards. If your child has a care plan agreed with their doctors, follow it. NHS: what to do if someone has a seizure.
